Well this has been a very stressful, eventful week for us. Monday we dropped Kory off at daycare like normal, about 2 hours into the day we recieved a call from our neighbors that they closed off the street less than 2 miles from the house due to the fires. So we raced to daycare to pick up Kory and got home as soon as we could. The area was smokey and ashes were falling, we decided not to take a chance and packed what we felt was important. We stayed packed until yesterday afternoon when we thought we were out of harms way. Our driveway has a layer of soot on it and the pool has a layer of soot on the bottom and top.
To top it all off Kory has a sinus infection, daddy is sick with cold and Laura is getting over a cold. We haven't slept much and are feeling a little beat up. Kory is cutting 2 bottom teeth and is not far from being totally mobile. He can crawl backwards pretty good and is able to crawl about a foot at a time forward. We plan to get some stuff to block off the living room from the hallway so when he is totally mobile he can't go too far. We also had to lower the mattress in Kory's crib, Laura went into his room to get him and low and behold he was sitting up holding the rail. So last night I lowered it about 8", we don't want him to take a tumble out of bed. Kory is also sitting up on his own on occasion, it is amazing how he changes each day.
While at the doctors office getting checked out they threw him on the scale, he weighed a very healthy 17 lbs and 2 ounces. Kory goes in for his 6 month shots in 2 weeks...my how time flies.
